Thank you to Club 11 Rotarians who donated to the All in One Fund, which is the charitable arm of our club. One of the outcomes of our donations is that the Community Service Committee allocates grant dollars to local non-profits once a year. Many club members help with various projects just as our toilet paper drive and monthly volunteering at Lift for Life Gym but this is another way we all give back to our community.
At our June 2nd meeting we will be celebrating our grant recipients, learning about their projects and presenting our checks to them. This meeting would be a great opportunity to bring a friend/potential member to our club meeting in order to learn about the great work we do.

There were 27 applicants this year, 6 more than our previous high number of applicants.
The selection process included every member of the community service committee being sent a copy of all grant applications. Each member selected their top 7 grants, in order of preference. Grants were given points based on how it was ranked by each reviewer (i.e. 7 points for 1st, 6 points for 2nd, etc.). This year 17 committee members ranked applications. Points were then totaled. The committee the reviewed the total points given each grant and the amount of money each grant requested. Final decisions were made via committee discussion. The board of both the Rotary Welfare Fund and Club 11 then voted to support the committee decisions.
Decisions this year were harder than previous years because we had more applicants and just $30,000 to allocate. Hopefully as future donations and club fundraising increases, we will be able to support even more organizations.
If you have any suggestions for changes to the process, please let Marcia Barber know. The committee will be discussing the process this fall to determine if any changes should be made for 2017.
Thank you to all Club 11 Rotarians who sponsored a grant. The growing interest in our grant program shows that we truly are a service oriented group.
