The cabin fever following 11″ of snow filled the Olivette lanes
with Rotary bowlers on this cold winter evening.
Hey Carl, how many quarters has your team won thus far?
Writers beware. He whom yields the pen last, will certainly spill the
most ink?!? Or some semblance thereof! Has Rubinelli resurfaced?
Although you displayed an elegance of prose correlating my teams
loss to the Decker’s last week, ala the Clemson-Alabama game,
please note. We were a hot team that got beat by a little hotter team.
When one wins a game 914-905, loses total by 20 pins 2601-2581,
AND 16 points, you are not tanking! Great fun was had though!
Heard on the night, “Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I sit
down until it goes away and have another cold one!”
On lanes 17-18 the Soifer’s bested the Kocher’s 13-9 winning
the first game by one pin 771-770. Otherwise the points would
have been reversed. Proprietor Don had a tidy 205 for the Kocher’s.
On 19-20 those ¥#€¥£€%? Cowbells got the better of the Weiss
guy’s 12-10. (The Weiss guys would have taken this on Position Night
last quarter). Their winning was not void of any dramatics. Cowbell
needed only a spare in the tenth frame of the first game. First ball a
seven count, second ball, miss. Weiss guys win 804-801. David sure
made up for this by pounding out a 248 3rd game. The Buddha, with
his team having rolled only one strike total through the first five frames
of game one, got hung in the sixth! Go figure. The Legend had a team
leading 217 game.
Over on 21-22 the Harris bunch handled the Coopers 18-4. It was
heard on those lanes, “I haven’t had sex in 8 months. Honestly, I now
prefer to go to bowling!” I don’t think that was Arnold.
Down on the end the hot, hot, hot Decker’s pounded the hapless
Lorenz’s 22-0. Stay in Hawaii Doug. The Goop had the high series 668
and high game of 255 for the night. What is remarkable, Blake opened
in the tenth frame of ALL THREE games having a 7-10 split in the last
game. The Decker’s appear to be the team to beat in quarter Three.
Windo won the 50/50 jackpot of $57 and promptly bought the
Legend his dinner.
Baby it’s cold outside but frosty warm inside Olivette Lanes.
Come on out and enjoy yourselves Rotarians.
Strikes $ Spares!
