The Olivette Lanes slowly came to life Monday night as Rotarians of Club 11 slowly filtered in for another great experience of bowling, laughter and BS. As always things started slow and gradually got to the point of people incriminating themselves so I had something to write about. Eight of the normal alleygation targets or I mean fine up standing Rotarians were not present due to an emergency, golf trip!
And since they were not present it would only be fitting that we talk about them!! However we are limited to space so I will be efficient and not stoop that low.
There were two lanes Team Weiss and Team Cowell that were finished by 7:50pm. Totally unheard of and not your typical night. We had a blind on each team and David “Cowbells” Cowell kept only throwing one ball so it made the night go quick. What a great night David – 608.
Keeping in stride with David was “Proprietor of the Year” Mr. Don Klackner, who bowled like he owned the place! 247 game and totaled 620.
On lanes 17&18 were another group of bowlers that were done quickly. Team Decker and Team Lorenz could only muster up 4 bowlers total and had a very quick marathon night. Team Decker coming out on top with 15 points. Rick Tinucci tried his best with a game high 189 but just could not keep up with the relentless Ralph Decker’s 192 and 533 total.
Team Cooper and Team Harris were facing off on lanes 19&20. Bob “Newsie” Barnes was seen doing the Newsie Shuffle a number of times! I guess you could say Bob was on a roll! Get it! Roll, Bowling, never mind. Team Harris came out on top winning 14 – 8.
Lastly Team Kocher faced off with Team Soifer. As usual Team Kocher climbed to the top of standings soundly defeating Team Soifer 18 to 4. But as we all know Team Kocher does not have the stamina to maintain long enduring quarter trying to hold off all the lurking teams in the bottom of the ranks.
Another great night of Rotary Bowling 100th year in the books. See everyone next week when all will be back and ready to Roll!
