It was Monday night at Olivette Lanes…the *best bowling alley in Missouri. And I’m not making that up! Congratulations to Don Klackner for earning this designation! There is no better alley for St. Louis Rotary to be rolling through our 100th year of league than at Olivette Lanes; only the best for the best!
Yes, it was Monday, October 22nd and our eight teams showed up to bowl, laugh, and enjoy the evening, just to name a few reasons.
Captain Jonathan Soifer included in his observations that “there is the fact that one Rose Cooper was enjoying bowling so much that she forgot to collect information. Alley wide, there was the moment of silence for Jim MacDonald and the welcome of Buzz Gerber” (and Joyce).
Captain David Cowell reports that “Bob Barnes and Dan Conway led the way in 16-6 victory for Price over Cowell. Newsy would have been a tired man if he had been shuffling with every strike. Bring back the shuffle!” Rumor has it that there will be tryouts on Monday for back-up “Newsy Shufflers”.
Captain Matt Weiss: “The only thing I can say is that we can’t have this much
fun legally anywhere. The Weiss guys have gone 38 & 6 the past two weeks leaping
to 4 points out of first place. Should be a fun Monday position night.” That’s right, Monday, 10/29 is our first quarter roll-offs.:
On lanes 17 & 18 our first place Kocher team will roll 2nd place Cooper team.
League president, Ralph Decker personally named the Cooper team “Crackin’ Rosie’s” LOL and that name appears to be working for us. I’m loving it that when we don’t watch our teammate Gary Jones bowl he marks more.
On lanes 19 and 20 you will find 3rd place Weiss team bowling 4th place Cowell team.
Going into the roll-offs the teams are very close in points won so the evening will be competitive and fun! Same-o same o…
