Week Two – Bowling 9/18/17
Week 2 of the 2017-2018 finished up in the usual form.
Game 1 highlights (and lowlights) Jim Cavanagh managed to break 100. Team Decker took advantage of extra lane grease due to the delicious chicken fingers at Olivette Lanes. And Don Lorenz lost game 1 to his brother, Doug. High Scratch game 1: Blake (202) and Ralph (201).
Game 2 highlights: Richard Losciale picked a difficult 4-7-10 split and David “Cowbell” Cowell picked up 2 difficult splits. Scratch game highlights, game 2: Don Klackner (233), Don Lorenz (210), and Gary Jones?!? (202).
Game 3 highlights: Paul Holt managed a solid gutter ball following a spare to really boost his team! Mike Borough admitted, after tying the ghost, he was just there to drink. Team Lane rolled a combined 926, and Team Barnes followed with a close 2nd with 911.
Don Klackner and Gary Jones had spectacular nights with a 604 and 568 scratch games, respectively.
Team Lane vs. Team Decker: Unfortunately for team Decker, the extra lane grease went in favor of Team Lane…Dropping 17 of 22 points, and solidifying their spot in 8th place. On a positive note – They finally won their first game of the year!
Team Bossi vs. Team Barnes: Team Barnes shuffled past Team Bossi-Windish to skunk them and take 22
Team Hadler-Hadler vs. Team Linton-Finch: The two over-hyphed teams faced off, with Team Hadler-Hadler taking 19 of 22 with a stellar performance by newcomer Abby Dussold and her low game of 85
Team Critzas vs. Team Wicks: Team Critzas, after a strong weak 1, dropped 16 to Team Wicks.
The Second week is in the books, and so far, it looks to be another exciting Rotary Bowling year. Keep up the great work Ralph! Always remember, especially you golfers, “One of the advantaged bowling has over golf is that you seldom lose a bowling ball.” – Don Carter
