Reservations are now closed. Please note that we will be meeting in the T-Rex Room on the lower level of the Science Center’s main building, 5050 Oakland Avenue. Plan to arrive by 11:45am to pick up your pre-ordered box lunch so the program can begin promptly at noon. Make sure to leave ample time to find parking as the parking lot is expected to be very busy. Bring your parking ticket in with you and parking will be validated for $2.
Cindy Encarnación, Ph.D., Senior Director of Science, Saint Louis Science Center— Cindy leads the strategic integration of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in exhibits and educational programs at the Saint Louis Science Center. A museum professional for close to 20 years, she led the Life Science Team at the Saint Louis Science Center prior to her current position, and established the life science-related experiences at the museum. Some of her more recent projects include the agriculture-themed GROW exhibition and the Life Science Lab, which includes several hands-on authentic lab activities for visitors. Cindy also frequently collaborates with many universities and research institutions in the St. Louis region, partnering with several scientists and educators on many federally (NSF, NIH, NASA, DOE) and privately funded projects. She serves in advisory committees for projects at Washington University in St. Louis and for the National Human Genome Research Institute’s genomics literacy project. She has a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Michigan.
