The Rotary golf league had another outstanding golf outing at Norwood Hills Country Club. Many thanks to our host Gary “Doc” Jones as well as the great service at the club. We had 22 golfers with 16 staying for dinner. We were able to welcome new Rotarian Price Harris to the league as well as guest Cris Cady (Flip’s son in town from Hawaii), Rick Jones (from the West County Rotary Club), Tina Jones (Rick’s wife) and Roland Schriever.
Norwood was in great shape with hardly a blemish to be seen anywhere on the course. The temperature was once again in the 90s but the humidity was very low which made the day enjoyable.
Medalist for the event was Cris Cady with a splendid 75 which bested his dad who had 82. Bragging rights in the family until he comes back into town.

Most had plenty of time for fellowship following golf as the last group had a slow day out there. About 7:15 we were ready for dinner and were served a nice stuffed chicken breast with glazed vegetables followed by delicious gold brick ice cream. During dinner, our host Gary Jones, made sure we had plenty of wine as he was nice enough to make the purchase. Thanks Gary.
After awards we were on our way home, waiting for the next outing scheduled for Tuesday July 17th at the historic Glen Echo Country Club. Jay Ryan will be our host. Be sure to get your reservation into Dave Wicks and feel free to invite guest. It really is great fellowship and played on some of the nicest golf courses in the St. Louis area.
Hope to see you then,
