On just a perfect day for golf on picturesque Fox Run Golf Club, 22
Rotarians and four member sponsors of Fox Run joined together in the
revelry of a fine round of golf. Many thanks to John Guilfoy, with three,
and John Reed with one, for providing member sponsors.
Not since 2011 has the Rotary Tour visited this layout, which many in
our group felt that the setup was not too difficult. At 6050 yards, which
did not feel this long, our golfers turned in some fine scores.
Medalist honor of the day went to guess? Steve LaFara with a very fine
74 on the score sheet. Retirement life is treating many in our group very
nicely. Since retiring, Steve has joined a Country Club, plays and practices
routinely. Next stop, graduating to the Senior Tour?

With a shotgun start, only four shower stalls available, and 22
guys trying to get in one, well, looked like a scene out of…..you fill in
the blank……..but just not pretty!!!
Afterwards, a really nice plated BBQ dinner was had along with
the necessary libations. What a day that appeared to never end!
Our next outing will be held at St. Clair CC over in Belleville on
Tuesday June 19. We expect to see and visit with our old friend Bob
Goalby, winner of the 1968 Masters and recent speaker at our Club.
Please get your reservations into David Wicks for this fine event.
